3. Calculator Accuracy

Our calculators use industry-standard formulas (amortisation, compound interest, progressive tax brackets, etc.) and are tested against published examples from BNM, LHDN, and major banks. However:

  • Results are estimates. Your actual loan, return, tax, or insurance outcomes may differ due to factors not captured in the calculator (fees, processing charges, timing of payments, regulatory changes, individual underwriting).
  • Rates change frequently. Bank rates, EPF dividends, OPR, and tax brackets are updated as we become aware of changes — but there may be a delay between an official announcement and our update.
  • Assumptions may not apply. Each calculator makes specific assumptions (e.g., "fixed rate for full tenure", "no early settlement"). Read the methodology notes carefully.
  • Always verify with the institution. Before signing any loan, insurance, or investment contract, obtain the official figures from the relevant bank or provider.

4. Past Performance Disclaimer

Where we reference historical EPF dividends, ASB returns, KLCI performance, gold prices, or any other historical data, please note: past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Investments can go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested. The 5.50% EPF dividend used in our projections, for example, is based on the 2024 declared rate and is not guaranteed for future years.

5. Islamic Finance Disclaimer

Our Islamic finance calculators (Murabahah, Faraid, Takaful) reflect commonly accepted Shariah-compliant structures used by Malaysian Islamic banks and Takaful operators. Specific contracts may vary in structure between providers. For binding Shariah compliance opinions and detailed product structuring, consult the Shariah committee of the relevant Islamic financial institution or a registered Shariah adviser.
